Parsons Pre-College Academy

Since 2016 I have been a faculty member of the Parson Pre-College Academy. It has been such a pleasure to work with young designers as they learn to design and visually communicate ideas for fashion. I help them transform their 2D ideas into 3D using traditional and not-so-traditional techniques. Sew fun!

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

I work with fashionable teens as they take inspiration from the Met’s Costume Institute exhibitions. Since 2017, I have been the studio instructor for the retrospective exhibition, Rei Kawakubo / Comme des Garcons: Art of the In Between, Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination and Camp Notes on Fashion. The summer 2020 exhibition, About Time: Fashion and Duration, was postponed, but we were able to carry on with teen studio virtually in January 2021. I hope to be back in the museum when it’s safe!

New York Times Student Journeys

It was a dream to step behind the scenes of the fashion industry with 23 young aspiring fashion designers, a New York Times style expert and other leaders. We spent time in New York and Milan, Italy, studying international trends and fashion history and networking with up-and-coming professionals in the industry. The 16-day program was canceled in 2020 but fingers crossed we’ll be back abroad next year.
